San Diego Navy Serviceman Charged with DUI Causing Death

Fox 5 in San Diego, California is reporting that Richard Anthony Sepolio, 24, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence causing death.

On Sunday, Sepolio was driving his pickup truck when the truck plunged 60 feet off of the Coronado Bridge killing four people attending a festival at Chicano Park located below the bridge.

Officer Jake Sanchez of the California Highway Patrol told USA Today that innocent people where were sitting below the Coronado Bridge at the Chicano Park, just having a good time are now gone.

At a press conference on Saturday, Sanchez said that alcohol was involved in the crash.

A witness also said that Sepolio was holding his cell phone at the time of the accident.

Andre Banks, Cruz Contreras, Annamarie Contreras, and Francine Jimenez were identified as the four deceased victims of the accident.

Sepolio’s GMC truck landed on its side killing the four victims.  However, a number of people were able to flip the truck upright on its wheels.  According to reports, a curtain was used by crime scene investigators to limit the visibility to those in the park.

Lee Swanson, a spokesman for the city's Fire-Rescue Department, told reporters that eight people attending the festival were injured. One victim suffered major trauma, while seven other festival goers had only minor to moderate injuries.
